The complimentary breakfast buffet gets the thumbs up from our guests at the Desert Palms Hotel Suites, which is right next door to Disneyland, as close to the fun as you can get. There are several different counters serving hot items like eggs, sausage, and home-fried potatoes; and theres a make-your-own-waffle bar where you can ladle on all your favorite toppings. The bright and airy breakfast room is a great place to share tips about seeing the sights. The five-story Desert Palms has a turret at every corner, making it resemble a modern version of the Sleeping Beauty Castle. The 188 non-smoking rooms are nicely furnished and have refrigerators and microwaves. Theres free Wi-Fi, as well as TVs with premium cable (including, of course, the Disney Channel). The larger family rooms accommodate up to 10 people. There are also a pretty pool and hot tub in the courtyard, perfect after a day of exploring. The hotel has a restaurant on-site, and there are dozens more nearby. Disneys California Adventure is adjacent to the hotel, and Disneyland and Downtown Disney share the same block. Across the street is the Anaheim Convention Center, making this an ideal lodging for business travelers. Knotts Berry Farm, another family favorite, is nine miles northeast. The closest airports are John Wayne Orange County Airport about 13 miles south, and Long Beach Airport, about 14 miles west.
